At Tomologo we dream for a future where less is more: Less impact on our planet, more value to its people. To make this dream come true we started our business with high standards. To take the responsibility of our actions we commit to do more starting with being transparent all the way. 

To reduce the impact we consider the life cycle of our products from design to their end of life.

We make designs to last, to be loved and to be inherited to the next generations. Our consumption philosophy is using whatever you have for a long time, taking good care of it and buying fewer things that are better in quality. 

Our design approach has some material limitations to reduce our impact like avoiding the usage of polyester in our linings & dust bags and avoiding PU and PVC “vegan” leathers.

Leathers

All leathers used in our products are by-products of the food industry. We are not using exotic animals’ hides.

All of our leathers are sourced from gold rated LWG* suppliers based in Turkey with 100% traceability rate. To learn more about our leather selection you can check our leathers page out.

*The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an international not-for-profit membership organisation that aims to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by assessing and certifying leather manufacturers. 

Hardware

Our metal hardware is made of zamak, a recyclable alloy. Our metal hardware is made in Turkey. Since the quality of the accessories made in Turkey don’t match our expectation we currently purchase them from China.

We aim to provide high quality and sustainable production in Turkey in the coming period.

All Tomologo products are manufactured by the hands of local artisans in İstanbul, Turkey. We believe in the power of slow fashion, which means we take our time to design, to find the right partners to work with, and to produce our handcrafted premium products. We don’t over produce, thus we keep control on the quality and we don’t create “fake” discounts to get rid of the overstock.

We currently don’t have any shops so all our business is through e-commerce and like everything else e-commerce has its own impact on our planet. To reduce this impact we ship “plastic free”.

Your Tomologo order comes with a cotton dust bag and and a recyclable carton box to ensure your bag’s safety through its shipment. Our dust bag and carton boxes are made in Turkey.

We are using the highest quality leather to make sure our pieces are worth your investment and last long. The longer you use your handcrafted item, the less impact it will leave on our planet. We recommend you to follow product care instructions to increase your product’s lifetime. If you notice that you are no longer using it you can always consider giving it to a friend or selling it on second hand platforms.
