OUR LIMITATIONS
When we began our journey at the start of 2021, we had one great goal that we were determined to pursue no matter what: to build a brand based on sustainable values. In line with this goal, ensuring products with a lower environmental impact, a transparent business model, and fair working conditions for the people behind our products are among our top priorities. While achieving these goals requires great effort, and even though it means longer production times for our valuable products, we believe the results will be worth it.
We believe sustainability is not something that can be achieved simply by taking actions to reduce our environmental impact. Sustainability is a continuous improvement process, and we are committed to this mindset. We are still at the beginning of our journey, and there is much more to improve. Therefore, we want to share with you transparently the areas we believe we need to develop and what we aim to do in the future.
Environmental Impact Calculation

Current Status: As of now, we have not been able to fully measure our environmental impact. However, we know the steps we must avoid to prevent harm to our planet, and we base our decisions on this knowledge. We believe that a comprehensive assessment is necessary to truly understand our environmental impact.
Our Goal: In the long term, we aim to minimize our environmental impact and contribute to a carbon-neutral future. We are eagerly awaiting the day when we can fully calculate the environmental effects of our activities. Therefore, we are collecting the necessary data to begin calculating our carbon footprint.
Supplier Management

Current Status: Due to the size of our company, we do not have our own production lines for raw materials or final products. We work with various suppliers for materials such as leathers, metal accessories, dust bags, and shipping boxes. Our products are crafted by skilled artisans in a small leather workshop in Istanbul. The limited control we have over the production process has led us to seek out international certifications, such as LWG, which assure us that our products are safer for both people and the planet.
Our Goal: We aim to strengthen our relationships with our partners to gain more insight into our first and second-tier suppliers. We believe that by building strong relationships and increasing production volumes, we can better manage this process in the future.
Raw Material Selection: Chrome Leather Linings
Current Status: To avoid the use of plastic or polyester, we prefer leather linings in our bags. However, due to the limitations of current technology, vegetable-tanned leathers do not achieve the necessary softness and creamy texture. Therefore, we use lamb leather for the linings, which provides a soft touch. We are pleased that our leather suppliers hold LWG certifications, ensuring that their environmental and social responsibility standards are met.
Our Goal: We are conducting research to develop linings made from chrome-free tanned leather or natural fibers without compromising quality. We aim to implement these new linings as soon as possible and phase out chrome-tanned linings from production.

Raw Material Selection: Cotton Dust Bag
Current Status: Cotton is a natural, recyclable fiber that does not release microplastics. Therefore, we use cotton dust bags to protect our bags. To prevent overproduction and maintain a sustainable business model, we order our dust bags in small quantities.
Our Goal: We are aware of the environmental impact of conventional cotton farming and plan to use organic cotton for our dust bags in the future. Although sourcing organic cotton fabric in the required quantities is challenging, we are committed to using organic cotton dust bags as soon as we reach the necessary volumes.

Raw Material Selection: Carton Delivery Box

Current Status: Limiting single-use plastics in our supply chain is a key priority, and we do not use plastic in our shipping process. Additionally, we make an effort to minimize paper usage in our packaging process.
Our Goal: As our order volumes increase, we plan to use FSC-certified materials for our shipping boxes, supporting sustainable forest management and producing more environmentally friendly packaging.
Waste Optimisation: Leather Waste

Current Status: To minimize leather waste in our production process, we choose to preserve and use the small natural marks on the leather. We believe these marks symbolize the authenticity of the leather, and by using every part of the leather, we reduce waste. Additionally, for our limited “Revive” collection, we reprocess forgotten, offcut leathers, preventing this valuable material from becoming waste.
Our Goal: Using our vegetable-tanned leathers with minimal waste is a fundamental aspect of our sustainable production philosophy. In line with this, we aim to develop larger collections and designs that focus on reusing leather waste.
